Todd,

Liz Chaney does indeed pose a serious challenge for me (as does Trump). After 13 years working for the IMF in Afghanistan (20, two week visits starting in Jan 2002) and for the U.S. Treasury in Iraq (2 month stay plus 5 additional two week visits in 2004-5) I strongly oppose her and her father's championing our forever wars. But I also praise her work on the Jan 6 committee to find and bring to us the truth of that day (and before and after). But this is why I shy away from characterizing and judging people and focus instead on policies (good bad or mixed). Trump is a truly BAD person but Liz, in my opinion, is a good person even if not always right. She has chosen to stand for and defend her country rather than her reelection. I pity Kevin McCarthy, my home town congressional representative, whose support of Trump is probably essential for his reelection. Sadly he has chosen electoral rejection over defending his country.

Sincerely,
Warren
